This beautiful stone is Ocean Jasper. Ocean Jasper is a multicolored stone from Madagascar, typically with naturally occurring spherical patterning. It can also display multicolored bands throughout.
Ocean Jasper was originally discovered in 1922, but its location was lost. It was rediscovered, on the coast of Madagascar, in 1999, and introduced to the public at the 2000 Tucson gem show. It is said that the supply is starting to run out making it a highly sought after stone for collectors.
This necklace features a beautiful one-of-a-kind Ocean Jasper stone set in sterling and fine silver. It has a scalloped bezel and is framed by dot-patterned twist wire and silver ball embellishments. It hangs on a 20-inch diamond-cut cable chain with a toggle clasp.
